Local church young adult ministry networks

Local churches, across all denominations, experience dramatically different contexts for their young adult ministries.

In any given local area there might be: one or two churches with large young adult communities and dedicated young adult staff; a few churches with mid-sized young adult communities and a part-time staff member to minister to them; and many churches who have few (or no) young adults and no staff member responsible for this age group.

In many local areas, these churches function independently of each other. The leaders of their young adult ministries are not relationally connected to each other, and they don’t engage in any shared ministry together.

360 FAITH’s mission is to support local churches in their ministry to young adults and pioneer new expressions of local, inter-denominational, young adult ministry.

The first and most important step in pursuing this mission is to facilitate local networks of young adult church ministry leaders (pastors, ministers and coordinators). Young adult ministry is challenging, and it’s also an area of ministry that is generally not very well understood or resourced in the church. Bringing local leaders together is a vital way of encouraging and equipping their ministry on the ground.

The priority given to these local networks also means local 360 FAITH events aren’t just about being in the same room together, or a kind of performative unity. Instead, they are catalysts for, and genuine expressions of, true fellowship among God’s people.
